The British
Jazz Foundation is a charity (No.: 1060300) and was founded in 1995
by Liz Lincoln. Its purpose is to support jazz musicians who are
unable to work due to illness. To that end, it has organised numerous
charity galas, and three international jazz festivals. Plans for
a fourth festival in 2005 are well advanced.
It also administers the Spike Robinson
Scholarship Fund, which provides
grants to enable young British students to study jazz both here and
in the USA.
